The myth of the West is that things outside ourselves - other people, money, material comforts - will fulfill us. The myth of the East is that happiness comes through rejecting the outer world, through the retreat into the inner connection with Spirit.
Yoga (literally "union"), a 5,000-year-old system for self-revelation, understands that true fulfillment can only be achieved when the two worlds, the outer and the inner, are united, when we are in tune with our inner truth and also live it in our daily lives. Then we are living our Dharma, our true and unique purpose in life. It is by being in this flow, by living as an expression of our connection with our inner Self, that we find true fulfillment and happiness.
Aadil will teach the philosophy of yoga and specific practices that lead to this inner awakening and outer fulfillment. Participants will leave with tools to help them grow in their journey of Self-discovery, in the path of bridging the inner and outer experience of living, and in the unfoldment of happiness.
Yoga is all about connection: connecting with body, breath,
heart, mind and spirit. Connecting with your students is one of the most
important parts of being a yoga teacher. It begins from the very moment you
walk into the room. Your greeting, your smile, your words, your initial
presence, all have an impact on how your students will connect with you. However
subtle, these initial moments shape everyone's entire experience. When you
share from your heart and speak throughout the class, these initial moments
will resonate. Learn basic techniques and practices to create meaningful
connections that leave your students inspired and empowered. These benefits
will leave your students with the desire to come back to your class. If you
establish trust and authenticity in those first moments, the students will feel
'seen', heard, felt, acknowledged, and appreciated. This is the very essence of
what it is to share and teach this gift of yoga. This workshop will
also provide guidelines for establishing healthy, ethical boundaries, and
professional connections that enrich your students' lives.
Most of us carry tension in the neck, shoulders, and upper back. Because we hold tension in our necks and shoulders, we shrink blood vessels and thereby create pain and stiffness in this area, often leading to headaches and fatigue. This tension in our upper spine reduces our ability to think clearly, to communicate with ourselves and others, and express what we need to say. Students will learn simple and easy innovations for releasing tension in these key areas, thereby promoting a stronger and clearer mind-body connection.
As yoga teachers, we serve with the understanding that the practice itself is the real teacher and we are guides in the process, and that what we have to offer depends on the nature of our own practice. Join Dana in an experience of yoga that investigates your own inner wilderness, cultivating intimacy with your multi-dimensional self. In this 2-hour Nosara Vinyasa experiential workshop for teachers, we are moved by rhythm and stillness, revealing the practice as transformative and discovering our human capacity to be in moment-to-moment wise and compassionate relationship to anything that arises. Your take-away will last a lifetime!

Perhaps the greatest challenge for freshly minted yoga teachers is teaching beginners. As new teachers, we
are enthusiastic to share everything we know about yoga often to the point of overwhelming the student. How can we make the practice accessible and user friendly to curious newcomers? For those tentative students with limited flexibility and strength, how do we introduce and break down the
elements of yoga practice in a way that will entice them to return and continue with their exploration?

As we face continued struggles at the environmental, economic, and global levels, our practice becomes even more critical. And yet, we may overlook the very real opportunity to use our yoga to heal ourselves deeply in order to heal the world around us. In this passionate talk by one of our yoga community’s most inspiring and dynamic spiritual leaders, Molly Lannon Kenny will address the nature of transformation in our personal lives and practices, as well as in our yoga classrooms and conferences, our communities and our life together, and will encourage us to dive anew into our practice - remembering yoga's ultimate goal, that of total liberation for all beings.

In our hearts there burns a fire…
That burns all veils to the root and foundation
When the veils have been burned away
Then the heart will understand completely.
Ancient love will unfold ever-fresh forms
In the Heart of the Spirit,
In the core of the heart.

Study asana transition in a contemporary and stylized way. Fundamental sequences will be studied and

Vata, which literally means wind, governs movement in the body and influences the other doshas. We live in a world that is predominantly vata, where change is our only constant. When we accumulate stress, our vata becomes imbalanced and we start to experience anxiety, worry and insomnia. Balancing vata dosha supports the other doshas.
This vinyasa/flow class is designed to ground and pacify vata dosha though pranayama, asana and meditation. Class will begin with a lecture on the five elements of nature, or mahabhutas, and the doshas.
This class focuses on movement to highlight the subtly of stillness. Learn to incorporate the parasympathetic nervous system into a flow practice and create a beautiful, moving meditation. This workshop includes a section on seated Kinetic Meditation and a performance of “Sargasso Sea,” which is an original platform choreography by Theresa Elliott.
Twists increase the gastric fire and detoxify the digestive system, thereby improving digestion. Additionally, twists release the tiny inter-vertebral muscles along the spine, freeing it for backbends. When done correctly, backbends bring joy and strength, focus and power. Learn how to do beginning backbends safely, with alignment and strength, so that as you move deeper into the practice of backbending to recharge your spine, you can enjoy the benefits without injury.
